George Burroughs was considered the ring leader by many people in the Salem village. Burroughs was born in either Virginia or Maryland when his father was on buisness from England. Burroughs graduated from Harvard college in 1670. He was an non ordained minister. He preached in Portland, Maine they were taken over by indians but Burroughs escaped to an island in the bay. He moved to Salem in 1680. He was eating in Wells,Maine when he was seized from his table and brought back to Salem on May 4th to stand trial. His trial was in august people had no doubt that he was a witch but he was in fact their leader. Even though some people said he was not a witch George was excecuted.
